Waterville Valleys shines

So the weather for this event was near perfect as last night’s snowstorm opened to blue bird skies, warmer weather and about ten inches of fresh. This event has been piggy backing a few of the USASA regional events and those who weren’t signed up to compete in the slope style rode some freshies. I know I certainly did.

Some Euro Truth

Burton’s Stephan “Mu” Maurer giving a helping… er, finger, at Burton Innsbruck’s Showroom

There seems to be a bit of misunderstanding when it comes to Europe versus the States. Some things are true and some tend to be bogus. After spending a couple weeks here in the Alps I am by no means an expert, but I’d like to take a swing at clearing up some of the confusion.

Europe Isn’t Getting the Snowfall it Used To.

In his latest episode of “How Can I Do It Myself And Cause Less Damage To The Planet,” Mikey took a piece from an 400 year-old, 80-foot pine that fell over on his Tahoe property and went through all the steps to transform it into a good old snowboard.

Snowboarding’s American Badass…by Tracy Anderson.

Just like other celebrities, pro snowboarders are constantly hounded by the media. And, in similar fashion to what we see in Hollywood, some riders love the limelight, while others would rather stick a metal rail in their eye than make time for an interview. Bryan Fox is among the latter. So traveling to Salt Lake City for a prearranged interview, I wasn’t sure what to expect as I went to track down one of our more elusive stars.

The first Six-Star Ticket To Ride event of the season, the famous Air & Style, took place in Munich, Germany in December, 2007 and FSM was lucky enough to be there. Now in its 15th year, the Air & Style just keeps getting better with stronger jump set-ups, a more legit rider list and bigger bands.
